The making of Jane's room...

Life was a bit crazy before Jane was born-- really, it hasn't gotten less crazy since then! We bought a house (moved in October 10th, the day of our first (of four!) baby showers).  We were really hoping to have bought a house before the academic quarter started in late September, but that just didn't happen.  We had to do a lot of work on the house and sadly one of the last things to get done was Jane's room.  Truth be told, it's still not 100% done yet, but as you'll see in the picture below, it's come a LONG way.  Brian and my parents (thanks a TON Mom and Dad) did a lot of work to get her room (and the rest of the house) into great shape.

Here are a few photos of the room in the making...

The room started out bright blue.  We're not quite sure what the story was, but two of the four rooms were painted this color.  Lovely, huh?

After two coats of primer and two coats of paint, the blue was gone.  We didn't want too much pink, so we went with a neutral color.  Then came the crib.  Note: that black stool on the bottom left of the picture is for my 8-month pregnant self to sit and watch them assemble!

The crib was the only thing in the baby's room for a LONG time.  In fact, it wasn't until late November that we started to make it feel a bit more like a nursery.  We had so much stuff but no where to put it.  Here is a picture of all her clothes!! The bags are full of gifts from our showers and the tons of clothes, toys, and baby that were "gently used" from our friends (which we're so blessed to have received!!)

 We wanted to add some fun and a bit of a feminine touch to her room, so we went with wall decals we bought from Etsy. 

We don't have a picture of the room cleaned up and with all of her furniture, but we'll get one soon. Here is what it looked like at the end of that day (we now have blinds and curtains up too!).

And since this blog is about her, we can't have a post with a picture of Ms. Jane herself!
